Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Book and Movie review for Harry Potter #4. (You can find review of #1 here and #2 here and #3 here.)  This book is still by far my favorite in the Harry Potter saga.  Fast paced from the Quidditch World Cup in the beginning to the Mad Eye Moody conclusion.  I still find myself not wanting to put it down when I pick it up to reread. 

Superhero Trio

I apologize for disappearing for a bit longer then I expected, but hopefully things have calmed down a bit and I can get back to writing here.  I’ll get back to the Harry Potter reviews next week.  This time I feel the need to do quick reviews a few of the Superhero movies that have recently come out. (Like with my other reviews…there might be spoilers if you haven’t seen the movie yet.)

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Book and Movie review for Harry Potter #3. (You can find review of #1 here and #2 here.)  I can’t say this is very high on my favorites.  This one was more of a bridge or sideline plot in the Harry Potter saga…at least it seemed that way to me.  I liked it well enough, and it does move the story along by giving a few more pieces of the puzzle regarding what happened to Harry’s parents…but it wasn’t my favorite.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Book and movie #2 in the Harry Potter saga.  (You can read my review of #1 here.)  This is the one where Dobby is introduced and Ginny takes a bit more of a role.  Dobby, admittedly, is probably my favorite character.  He’s a lot like the faithful, loyal puppy that tries hard to please but usually ends up tripping everyone up instead.  Plus I love his crazy love for mismatched socks!  FireBird went through a phase of not wanting to ever wear matching socks.  I was a bit sad when she stopped.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

We’ve been enjoying a Harry Potter marathon over the last few weeks with CareBear.  GadgetMan and I had decided long ago that our kidlets would need to read the books before watching the movies…on many of the made from books movies that seem to be so popular.  CareBear read through the Harry Potter books like a whirlwind…and we’ve had a blast watching the movies with her.

Mars Needs Moms, Pure Country 2 & Tangled

Finally!  A couple of weeks of fairly decent movies!

Pure Country 2 wasn’t as good as the first, in my opinion, but I wasn’t completely yawning and gagging through it either. I do have to admit that I found myself laughing at the 3 angels.  That was just a wee bit cheesy.  Okay…more then a wee bit.  I did love the music though…and even though I don’t consider myself a modern romantic, I do love true romance (where men act like gentlemen and girls know how to be ladies…or at least they learn how to be so).  Overall I smiled through this movie…which seems to be hard to do lately.

Skyline and Red Riding Hood

Two movies that GadgetMan and I watched over the last week.  Two movies I could have lived without.  Two movies…one left feelings of disappointment, the other feelings of incredulity.  Any guess as to which was which?

Rango

There were many cute and laugh out loud moments in this movie. 

Shorts and Veggies

Been a while, but I think we actually enjoyed our Netflix choices this week.

Hornet, Huckle and Scooby-Doo

One turned off without finishing and the other 2 watched over and over…and over.  It’s a good thing I like the two well enough to handle the repetitions.  Or maybe it’s a certain puppy-eyed look from a certain sick little kidlet…one of those 6 certain kidlets I love so dearly.  🙂
