A Child…is Adorable

The other day, GadgetMan and I snuck out to do a little shopping.  The shopping center that we went to has a few round sculptures outside some of the doors.

 

Beans, Beans and More Beans

My family likes to eat things like chili, refried beans and baked beans.  But dry beans are not my favorite things to cook with.  I never seem to be able to get them cooked right no matter how long I cook them.  They never get soft enough no matter how long I cook them.  So it’s always been easier to just buy the canned stuff.

Be an Idiot on Your Own Time!

I’m constantly amazed at how idiotic people can be.  Especially when they’re driving.  I’ll admit that I’ve had a few idiot moments in my life and I’m sure there are a few who would gladly enumerate them for me.  

 

Knowing

Knowing, starring Nicolas Cage, is a sci-fi movie about astrophysicist  John Koestler, whose young son, Caleb, brings home an envelope from a 50yr old time capsule opened at his school.  The envelope contains a sheet of paper with a seemingly random set of numbers.  John eventually connects the numbers to disasters leading up to a catastrophic event that will happen in 2009. 

 

A Child…is Not Forgotten

It’s taken me a while to get up the courage to write this.  There’s not a lot that I can say, so this will probably be short, simple and hopefully sweet.  On August 22 two young children fell into a pool. 

 

Burn Healer

A few weeks ago, GadgetMan took the 3 older kidlets on a Ward camping trip.  I wasn’t feeling up to it and kept the younger ones home with me to give the older ones a break and some time with daddy.  The directions weren’t accurate on time so they didn’t get there until after dark, got rained on, the tent leaked while they slept, and they got thoroughly dirty the next day….a typical camping trip.  CareBear made a friend out of a former “enemy” and got teased for hanging out with a boy.  KnightJester and GadgetJunior got their teeth rattled on the dune buggy rides and climbed every rock and log in the area.  I think they all had a blast.  At least they all got some fresh air and freedom.

The only real mar on the whole trip happened at the end,

ER Musings

NOT the tv show…

(Note: For the 2 or 3 who valiantly kept checking in to see what was new, I apologize for the long absence…and I thank you for your persistence.  The last couple of months have been ones that I hope to never have to repeat.)

I have spent more time then I have ever cared to sitting in one Emergency Room or another. 

 

Marley and Me

For those who don’t know, Marley and Me is about an untrainable dog, his owners and their journey through life.  Simplistically, this movie is about relationships…dog/owner, husband/wife, friend/friend, worker/boss, parent/child.

Honestly, I would never have been able to own a dog like Marley.
